BRUSH!!!!

>> Rachel: Today on Chompers our mission is to find out WHICH animal has the most TEETH.

Is it:

A: a snail (SNAIL SFX)

B: a shark (SHARK SFX)

Or

C: a saber-toothed tiger (TIGER SFX)

But before you make your guess, let’s learn about these animals!

And switch to the other side to the top of your mouth.

(SWITCH SFX)

Make circles with your brush over each tooth.

Did you know that the largest living snail can grow to be 35 inches long! That’s bigger than most cats!!! (MEOW SFX)

Have you ever noticed that when a snail moves, it leaves behind a slimy trail? It’s called mucus (MUCUS SFX) - you know, like SNOT! (GANG EW SFX)

(SWITCH SFX)

Mucus is how the snail moves … and can even help a snail travel UPSIDE DOWN! (SLIDE WHISTLE UP SFX) Don’t try that with snot! (SLIDE WHISTLE DOWN SFX)

Pick a side, and make sure to reach all the way back to your back teeth.

So does a snail have more teeth? Or does a shark?!

Unlike PEOPLE, SHARKS don’t have bones. They have cartilage instead.  Humans have some cartilage too. Grab your ear or your nose.  Wiggle it back and forth.  (WIGGLE SFX)

The reason an ear is so wiggly is because it’s made out of cartilage, not bone!

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth and keep brushing.

Our final choice for MOST TEETH is a SABER TOOTHED TIGER (TIGER SFX) Saber toothed tigers get their name from their GIANT teeth -- around a foot long. As long as a grown-up’s foot. Those teeth reminded scientists of curved swords called “sabers.” (SWORD SFX)

So … which of these animals has the most TEETH? Is it

A: a snail (SNAIL SFX)

B: a shark (SHARK SFX)

Or

C: a saber-toothed tiger (TIGER SFX)

We’ll tell you tonight when you come back for more Chompers.  Ready to spit and rinse?
