Which planet is the BIGGEST in our solar system?

Is it ...

  1. Jupiter ( SFX GAS)
  2. Saturn or  ( SFX ICE)
  3. Mercury (SFX slide whistle)

We live on planet EARTH. And Earth is part of the SOLAR SYSTEM … which is kind of like a neighborhood full of planets.

All of the planets in our solar system -- including Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury -- revolve around the Sun.

Switch your brushing to the other side of the top of your mouth (SFX SWITCH).  Make sure you’re brushing the outside, inside, and chewing side of each tooth.

Our solar system is like a merry go round (SFX Merry go round music) … you know, how all of the animals on the merry go round revolve around the center, in a circle? That’s what planets do, but the center of our merry go round is the sun!

So that’s WHAT our solar system is … now which of the planets in our solar system is the BIGGEST!? Let’s learn a little bit about Jupiter, Saturn and Mercury.

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth. (SFX SWITCH) Pick a side and keep making circles with your toothbrush around each tooth.

First up, Jupiter. Jupiter is a GAS planet (SFX FART) Not that kind of gas! It’s made of gases like helium. Helium is what we put in balloons to make them float up up and awayyyyyyyyyyyyy [EFX of voice getting farther away].

So is Jupiter the biggest planet in our solar system? Or is it Saturn?

Switch your brushing to the bottom of your mouth. Make sure you’re brushing the outside, inside and chewing side of each tooth.

Saturn is best known for its giant ice rings (SFX RINGS, maybe sword slicing?) Saturn has THOUSANDS of ice rings surrounding it, that sparkle in the sunlight (SFX TWINKLE).

And then there’s Mercury.  Mercury is the closest planet to the sun. That’s why it gets soooo HOT -- over 700 degrees! (SFX Slide Whistle) Whew!

So which of these planets is the BIGGEST in our solar system?

 Is it ...

  1. Jupiter ( SFX GAS)
  2. Saturn or  ( SFX ICE)
  3. Mercury (SFX slide whistle)
