>> Rachel: Good Morning! It’s time for Chompers! Your morning and night toothbrushing show.

Now ….  (SFX LETS GET READY TO RUMBLE!)

What? No! (SFX RECORD SCRATCH) No not rumble --  BRUSH! (ANIMAL SFX)

Its Animal Week on Chompers, and today we’re going WILD! (SFX ROAR) for all the amazing ways animals use their senses. That means smelling, touching, seeing, hearing and TASTING.

But first, we’ve got to get brushing! Pick a side on the top of your mouth. Make circles with your brush and be sure to cover each tooth!

Are you ready?

>>Kids: 3… 2… 1…  BRUSH! (THEMATIC SFX)

 (SFX WOLF )

>> Rachel: Did you know you have the same number of teeth as a giraffe?  Giraffes have LONGGGGGG (SFX STRETCHING) necks, but inside their mouths, they have 32 teeth, just like most people!

But that’s where the similarities end! Giraffes also have LONGGGGGGGG tongues -- up to 20 inches!

Their tongues are so long, they can even clean their ears with them (SFX EWWWW)

Why don’t you switch to the other side of the top of your mouth!  Make sure to get all the way to the teeth in the back!

While we’re talking tongues, have you ever seen a snake flick its tongue in and out of its mouth? (SFX SNAKE HISS) The snake isn’t making fun of you, (SFX RASPBERRY) it’s actually smelling the air! They mostly use their tongues to smell what’s around them. (SFX BIG SNIFF).

Stick your tongue in and out, in and out, just like a snake! (SFX HISSSSSS) Now give your tongue a good brush! (SFX TICKLE) Ooooo it tickles!

Now switch to the bottom of your mouth! Keep brushing in circles, all over your teeth on one side of your mouth!

Snakes might sniff with their tongues, but did you know that some animals taste with their FEET?! (SFX FOOTSTEPS) That’s what flies can do. Flies have sensors on the bottoms of their feet that tell them if what they landed on is yummy (SFX YUM!) or yucky (SFX YUCK!). If the fly likes what its sensing, then it comes in for a bite! (SFX CHOMP/CHEWING)

Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth! Make sure you’re brushing all the way from the front of your mouth, to the back!

We’re ALMOST done for today, but before you go, we have a question for you. What do these three things have to do with animal senses?

A perfume bottle (SFX SPRITZ), a whistle (SFX WHISTLE), and a hoola hoop (SFX HOOLAHOOP).

Come back for Chompers tonight to find out what these things have in common. OK, You are ready for the day! All you have to do now is

>>Kids: three, two, one SPIT!

(SFX WOLF HOWL)
