>>Rachel: Good morning! It’s time for Chompers, your morning and night toothbrushing show!

Start on the top of your mouth on one side, and make sure to brush all the way back to your molar teeth.

 >> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 brush! (SFX)

>>Rachel: It’s Music Week on Chompers and today we’re gonna do a little I-Spy! That means that I will describe to you an object I’m seeing, and you’ll have to guess what object it's talking about!

(SFX ORCHESTRA WARMING UP)

I am in a room full of sounds! I see a conductor holding a small stick and waving her arms in the air.  All kinds of musicians are sitting around her, paying close attention. But one musician is standing off in the corner. Suddenly from that same corner I hear a bang bang bang (SFX TIMPANY)! This instrument is keeping the rhythm. You hit it to make sounds.

Switch to the other side of the top of your mouth, (SFX) and brush in small circles around the whole tooth.

So what instrument do I spy? Shout it out:*

(PAUSE)

>> KIDS: The Drums!

>>Rachel: Drums are a PERCUSSION instrument. Percussion instruments are anything that you strike, scrape or shake to make a sound. Other percussion instruments include the triangle (SFX TRIANGLE), the tambourine  (SFX TAMBOURINE) and the xylophone (SFX XYLOPHONE)!

Switch to the bottom of your mouth, and don’t forget those front teeth.

Ready for another I SPY?

>> KIDS: Yeah!!

>>Rachel: All of the musician are sitting in a semi-circle, facing the conductor who is leading the song. Sitting in the front row are the musicians playing instruments with bows. They sound like this (SFX STRINGS).

There are big instruments, so big you have to stand up to play them! And small ones, that the players hold on their shoulders.

What kind of instruments do I spy? Shout it out!

(PAUSE)

>> KIDS: The Strings!

>>Rachel: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth, and keep brushing!

The members of the orchestra that play strings usually sit in the front, and can take up more than half of the seats! There are Violins (SFX) Violas (SFX), and Cellos (SFX),

Nice job brushing today! Come back for Chompers tonight to for more instrumental I-spies and don’t forget to

>> KIDS: 3, 2, 1 spit!
