To hear the bear roaring in the forest...

>> RACHEL: we use our ears, which give us our sense of hearing. To see the stars in the sky...
[STARS TWINKLE]
>> RACHEL: we use our eyes, which give us our sense of sight. To touch a furry cat...
[CAT MEOW]
>> RACHEL: we use our skin, which gives us our sense of touch.

>> RACHEL: I’ll tell you about your other senses after you switch to the bottom of your mouth...

>> RACHEL: -and make sure you’re making tiny circles with your brush.

>> RACHEL: To smell a dog fart...
>> KID: YUCK!
>> RACHEL: we use our nose, which gives us our sense of smell. And to taste chocolate...

Our senses work all the time. They send messages to our brain.
[COMPUTER BEEPS]
>> RACHEL: And these messages are feelings, sensations, images and sounds that tell us what the outside world is like.
>> RACHEL: Switch to the other side of the bottom of your mouth…

>> RACHEL: -and brush your front teeth too.
Without these senses we wouldn’t hear the bear roaring, see the stars in the sky, touch the cat’s fur, smell the dog’ stinky fart, OR taste chocolate.
